Shelley Ebbeson
OWNER &
MASTER STYLIST
Shelley has owned the salon since 2006. After four years of apprenticing under her mom, Penny, she decided to purchase the salon. Through on the job experience, she expanded her color theory knowledge and is a master stylist. Shelley has traveled to California, Florida, and Paris, among other locations, perfecting her craft. She has participated in three hair competitions and because of this she has learned a lot about challenging and creative updos. She is able to share her passion and with daughter, Taylor, does on location weddings.
Liane Wells
MASTER STYLIST
Liane has been working at Shear Class for over 16 years. She began working as a stylist more than 30 years ago in Massachusetts after attending Lowell Academy of Hair Design. Liane came to Shear Class so she could work in the community where she lives. She is passionate about color and blondes. Being a hair stylist through many fashion eras, she is very skilled with perms and traditional styles. Liane has become the go-to stylist for experienced men's cuts as well!
Jessica Durkee
STYLIST
VIVID SPECIALIST
Jess came to us as a stylist after being a long time client. She started coming to Shear Class as a little girl, over 25 years ago. Through her love of the environment, she attended Continental Hair Academie of Hair Design in Hudson and graduated in 2010. She has been a stylist here since 2016 and has grown incredibly in that time. She is most passionate about color, ranging from natural looks and blondes, and absolutely loves doing rainbow colors. She continues to push herself and gets creative with new vivid looks. From cuts, colors and everything in between, she is always up for a challenge. She continues to learn as much as she can to fulfill her passion of doing hair.
Taylor Szmyt
STYLIST
BLONDES & LIVED IN COLOR
Being the owner's daughter, Taylor grew up in the salon. She went to hair school in 2008 and started as a self taught makeup artist. Taylor has become a blonde specialist, working with very fine and damaged hair. Some of her favorite services to do are balayage, full highlights and color corrections. She has taken classes around New England to further her knowledge on different blonde techniques and how to keep hair healthy and long. Her creativity goes beyond the color brush; she is also responsible for the salon's marketing, website and the calligraphy around the salon!
Jonny McDowell
JUNIOR STYLIST
Jonny is our newest member of the Shear Class team. He was always passionate about hair & theater. When he was younger, his family came to Shelley for haircuts and he often discussed his interest in doing hair. He eventually attended Michel's School of Hair Design in 2022. Jonny shadowed at Shear Class following his graduation. He worked at Great Clips for a year and felt that he needed a better opportunity to be creative and when the opportunity to come work at Shear Class presented, he was happy to accept. Jonny loves doing men's fades, along with enhancing men's texture with services such as perms. He is excited to learn more about long layered womens cuts, color theory, blondes and makeup!
